Professor Michael M. Etgar

Professor Micheal Etgar is Head of the Marketing Department in the School of Business Administration, at Center of Academic Studies, Adjunct Professor at Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Herzelya, Israel, Professor of Marketing at Zicklin School of Business Administration, Baruch College, New York, USA. Professor Michael Etgar has received his Ph.D. in Marketing from U.C. Berkeley and his MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics in London.

Professor Etgar has over 30 years of academic, consulting and research experience in marketing. He taught for over 15years in several leading universities in the US among them, NYU, UC Berkeley and SUNY at Bufffalo. He was also invited as a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the University of Northern Florida. He is currently a faculty member at the Graduate School of Business Administration at the College of Management in Israel. His main areas of academic interest are management and control of distributive channels, retailing, international marketing strategy and recently, management of marketing relationships and the issue of the impact of cultural differences upon service performance, consumer behavior and retailing experience. He has published about 100 articles in marketing and business journals among them in the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business, Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Advertising Research. He wrote two books in retailing and is a frequent contributor to economic journals in Israel. He has consulted to the World Bank and the F.A.O., to numerous governments in South America and Africa and he serves as a consultant to several leading Israeli manufacturers, retailers and service providers.
